Epiphone casino elitist guitar center11/17/2023 ![]() ![]() In the end run we only ever managed to sell four Elitists I bought three myself and the other one went to a forum member in Sarnia who was having problems with attitude from his local dealer. Likewise for the Gibson LP Studio versus the Elitist LP Standard Plus. So for the same amount of money, the majority of buyers would prefer a Gibson SG Special Faded with a gigbag to an Elitist '61 SG Reissue with a hard case. ![]() Other than that, the attitude is always that a Gibson is better than an Epiphone, no matter what. Only people that have taken the time to evaluate the facts and perhaps try one or two out can appreciate these guitars. I heard all kinds of poppycock regarding the Elitists when asking local Gibson/Epi dealers in my area. It sounded a bit inconsistent to me except for the fact he is a major Gibson and Epiphone dealer. He said that Gibson was reconsidering the whole line and that the Epiphone China series were selling much better and something that it was too close to Gibson custom shop quality. A local dealer told me here that he did not even expect to get any more Casino's. I am glad to hear that at least they are keeping the Casino's. ![]()
